The A-TACS FG is a little darker than the Multicam so it probably does a little better in AK, but the two are so closely similar that you wont have a problem with either. The availability of Multicam and accessories makes it cheaper and more appealing to most folks.

DCUs...lol.

But seriously either one of those will work with Coyote Brown gear. A lot of the standard issue gear being issued to guys headed to Afghanistan is Coyote Brown and the uniform is OCP (Operation Enduring Freedom Camouflage Pattern) <--- long hand for Multicam.

I have Multicam and have a CB plate carrier for longer field time and a smaller Multicam Plate carrier for carrying less stuff haha.

I like multicam because of all the extra crap you can get for it (mainly combat shirts and Crye combat pants).

It can be a let down because it fades kinda quickly.

You can slow the aging of your multicam clothes by doing these few things..

Wash with darks only, use dark protectant laundry detergent liquid. And if you weren't sweating balls while wearing it, skip a wash cycle or just rinse in cold water. Also wash in cold water when cleaning them. Ad far as A-tacs v crye a few of us are falling away from these two completely and will be converting to Kryptek after tax returns. Just keep in mind multicam works every where, that's why there isn't a multicam FG.. I love multicam because I don't have to change due to environment change. It's like a trusty old revolver, it will always work.

That's a pretty expensive camo switch.

That's why we're using tax returns.
