so I have a pic I want to use for my "avatar" but I have no idea how............help?

1. Open "User Control Panel"
2. Open "Profile" tab
3. Open "edit avatar"

I have been there but how do I actually upload the pic?
there's nowhere to do that :/

Well, on the part of that page that says "Link off site", find the picture you want on Google images, then click the "view original picture". When you only have the picture on the browser, copy the url of that picture onto the "Link off site" form and it will pull the picture from whatever website you found it on and make it your avatar.

If you want to use your own photo, you will need to find a website that will host it, like Photobucket or Flickr. Then you can link it.
